Capturing Moments out of time.

Sara Grace (aka Kiwi) is a watercolor and ink artist, residing in the USA.

Born and raised in New Zealand, Sara's environment instilled a love of vibrant color palettes and dramatic landscapes. From her early childhood she was very creative and a prolific reader, which inspired many happy hours daydreaming, creating, and exploring her own fantasy world.

At the age of 6, Sara's parents hired an experienced art tutor who was adamant about drawing from the shoulder and drummed the rules of perspective into her head. At 9, she began studying Heraldry and Black letter calligraphy, continuing these studies into her late teens.

As a teen, a negative experience with an art teacher turned her away from traditional art, but she found creative expression as a patternmaker and seamstress. These skills serve her well as the foundation for her instinctive understanding of forms.

In August 2021 at the age of 44, Sara picked up some Koi watercolors to participate in a 35- challenge run by a friend. Her goal was to follow along with "Smaugust" due to her love of Dragons, committing just 7 minutes a day, 5 days a week.

This ignited a love of watercolor, and she began creating cartoons for her blog. After attempting several paintings from photo references, she decided to pursue serious art training and joined Alex Honeycutt's Solo Artist curriculum, which led her to Steve Huston's NMA head course in June of 2022.

Sara's goal is to complete the New Masters Academy 4 yr Art Program graduating with the class of 2027 and go on to work in the entertainment industry as a fantasy artist.
